The Rock 'n' Roll Review - Episode 23 - From the Bottom
Monday Apr 06, 2020
Monday Apr 06, 2020
Radiokeys' Emily and Tom take some time to interview founding member of From the Bottom, Dennis Hazleton about his debut record all while sheltering in place within their Oakland residence.
They discuss Tom’s history with From the Bottom, friendship with singer/songwriter Dennis Hazleton, and watching the band’s journey over the past 15 years leading up to their first record.
Emily and Tom then go to a phone interview with Dennis in which he weighs in on the album in depth. He speaks about opening the album with a recording of him singing along with his Mom, landing on an album title and then changing it, having each band member wear costumes during the recording process, pulling historical sound bites from a Golden Age of Radio vinyl, and more!
Tom and Emily then go on to break the album down track by track, outline some of the most poignant lyrics, highlight recurring themes, and as always play a few of their favorite songs!
