The Rock 'n' Roll Review - Episode 13 - Gold Star
Saturday Jan 19, 2019
Saturday Jan 19, 2019
Radiokeys members Stewart and Emily sip some savory vino in stormy St. Helena while breaking down the sophisticated songwriting of the indie-rock up-and-comer, Gold Star. They dive into how he turns everyday events into mesmerizing sonic palettes, the influence Los Angeles and its history has had on him, the three albums and prolific nature of his songwriting, and as always, they play a few of their favorite tracks!
Em and Stew also get to talking about the differences between learning music now versus a hundred years ago, James Baldwin and Sonny's Blues, Mississippi John Hurt and the 1960's Blues revival, how playing an instrument and painting can sometimes "put you in a cage", and songwriting in general.
